The Financial Industry Group (Fig) supports and co-ordinates the local banking, insurance and finance sector, aided by major corporate partners including Aviva, Marsh, Swiss Re and Virgin Money.

A financial industry base for over 200 years, Norfolk is home to major businesses within the sector, which serve the UK from Norwich. Financial and business services make the largest private sector contribution to the economy of Norfolk and employ one in three of the Norwich workforce.

Norfolk has a long financial services tradition. It is the birthplace of Barclays plc and the UK’s largest insurer, Norwich Union/Aviva. It is also home to a new £3.5 million National Skills Academy for Financial Services, one of the first of its kind in the UK.
