International business courses heading for Norwich
Following an initial introduction brought about by the Financial Industry Group in Norfolk, the National Skills Academy and City College in Norwich hosted the first of Marsh’s four 2011 international marine insurance courses during the week 4th – 8th April. 24 delegates from the shipping and insurance industries around the world came to Norwich to attend the course, which was held in St Andrew’s House in the heart of the city.
It became clear in 2010 that these international five day marine events were beginning to outgrow their existing venue as more and more companies around the globe wanted to send delegates.
Following a very successful single “taster” day held in St Andrew's House during the September 2010 course, delegates provided positive feedback about the conference facilities provided at the National Skills Academy building. This made the choice of a new venue easier for Marsh's first full 5 day international course of 2011.
Such is the renown of these courses run by Marsh, that the April 2011 delegates came from as far afield as Brazil, Russia, South Korea, the Middle East, Norway, Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands as well as from the City of London.
Having state-of-the-art conference facilities has clearly put Norwich on the world's business map and the Financial Industry Group (Fig) is delighted to have played its part in achieving this.
