Fig’s key role in shaping Norfolk’s future
Shaping Norfolk’s Future (SNF) recorded a year of success in its annual report and devoted two pages of the publication to Fig and financial services.
Among highlights mentioned was the launch of Fig's website, a new era of instant communication to a global audience built on the solid foundations of the Gazette.
The Prestige Lecture with the Financial Ombudsman was noted for the way it brought together accountants and solicitors as well as the financial industry audience.
Also recorded was the international promotion of Norwich as a financial centre through Fig's work with UKTI and, in spite of the downturn, the continued success of our companies, including Virgin Money's investment of £100 million to speed its expansion and launch a High Street Bank.
“Norwich is a thriving UK financial centre with international aspirations. It is vital for Fig to be at the forefront of future development,” reported Fig Director Marjorie Eade.
SNF Chairman Mark Hodges, also Chief Executive of Aviva UK, said: “Over the past couple of years we have shown we have a clear vision and a track record of delivery. We are ready to play a leading role in continuing to improve the economic performance of Norfolk.”
